Halo Reach to use Natal peripheral?

For those of you who may not of heard---during E3 2009 Microsoft reviled project natal. Project Natal is supposed to act as a new peripheral that you plug into your xbox 360 and use as a camera to sense your movement... Doesn't sound too complicated right? Well, it is not such a simple device. This new camera or "peripheral" as many can't seem to stop saying is supposed to not only track motion but emotion as well. That's right! The camera will also be able to track your face and speech to understand your mood. This paired with its ability to sense an incredible amount of side to side movements and depth allows game developers the ability to add a whole new feel to their games. At first when I say project natal I thought it was kinda creepy but then I thought to myself that this could be a pretty sweet platform to a whole new and different type of gaming experience. Anyhow, enough with the background. You can go to http://www.xbox.com/ to learn more about the device if you choose.

One of the most interesting pieces of news that I have heard is that bungie may use Natal as a feature for the upcoming Halo reach game which will be released around a similar time to project natal. Well I am sure that since it will be one of the first games for project natal it will probably not make full use of the camera feature as it typically takes developers a few years before being able to push new technology to its limits.

Game on!

Marvel to supply content to new Sony PSP Reader

OK so there are a few different home brew applications out there which were built to enable you the ablity to read up on your favorite digital content through your Sony PSP. However, it seems that Sony will be creating a reader which will be used with this digital comic service. Currently, this will allow readers to read up on their favorite Marvel Comics while on the go. From the video below it looks like two different UIs will be available for the Sony psp 3000 and the new sony PSP go. I don't know how well this will really work just because most people typically like to have something physical in their hands while reading.... I guess that's just part of the experience of reading-- I mean how ofter have you read a book cover to cover online? Anyway the concept looks great and I like the lay out of the GUI. However, I think we will have to wait to see if this is something that will really take off or not.

I think this would be great hopfully they do it soon so we can all get a feel for what this game will be like. it seems like heavy rain has been in development for so long people don't even know what to really expect anymore. PS3 Slim Confirmed! Yesss

Ok--- so I posted a blog earlier which covered the fact that there would possibly be a showing of the new ps3 slim if it existed. So now that Gamecom in germany has been taking place this week Kaz Hirai unveiled the new Sony Playstation 3 slim. After going over its features (which you can see in this clip below) it was said that the new ps3 slim will be available for sale beggining september 1st and the new playstation will also come at a lower cost. From what I can tell the ps3's new design has not really lost much functionality. the biggest difference is that the slim is... well slimmer-- duh. The slim also has traded the touch sensitive eject and power buttons for actual buttons and the hard drive is located on the bottom rather than the side as it previously was on the old ps3 fat-- I think that is the appropriate name for it now. The new slim also has done away with the glossy finish and now has a mat black finish... so that meeans no more worrying about scratching or marking up your playstation with your greasy finger prints. Anyway, I like the design and I think I will have to come out of pocket and grab a new one--- what do I do with my old one Though?

psp beaterator

Firs off I love messing with games that let you play around and create your own music. I think this sounds like a promising title and it seems that Timbaland himself has paired up with the developers of this game to give some of his tools to the public to edit and make their own. Anyway, I can't wait to get my hands on beaterator for the psp. This will definatley be a great title to kill time on those long trips--- well-- also in my livingroom. check out this teaser.

PS3 Slim comming out in 2009

So I keep hearing all these rumors about the ps3 coming out with the ps3 slim.... Basically the rumor is that the PS3 will come out with a consol that is similar to the slimed down ps2. Well we all might be able to put a end to these rumors in a few days as sony may reveal whether or not they have plans to produce the slim ps3 or any other iteration of the next gen consol. Either way I am hoping that this is put to rest so that all of the fake photos can stop floating around on random sites. Anyway, I don't think that this rumor could be so far fetched since sony has pretty much slimmed or made smaller almost every thing that they have done when it comes to games. Additionally ps3 has also done quite a overhaul to the new ps3 models in order to drive costs for themselves. If you don't know what I am talking about you probably have not owned or seen some of the origionall ps3 consols with 4 usb ports and a multi card readers and backwards capability--- Anyhow I get pissed when I start talking about this since my origional ps3 was stolen and my new one sucks.... Well I thought it would be interesting to bring this topic up since it is getting alot of attention with the arrival of gamecom comming up in germany. Hopefully when the trade show hits we will start to see some news emerge of the console possibly getting a new look so keep an eye out.
