Halo Reach to use Natal peripheral?

For those of you who may not of heard---during E3 2009 Microsoft reviled project natal. Project Natal is supposed to act as a new peripheral that you plug into your xbox 360 and use as a camera to sense your movement... Doesn't sound too complicated right? Well, it is not such a simple device. This new camera or "peripheral" as many can't seem to stop saying is supposed to not only track motion but emotion as well. That's right! The camera will also be able to track your face and speech to understand your mood. This paired with its ability to sense an incredible amount of side to side movements and depth allows game developers the ability to add a whole new feel to their games. At first when I say project natal I thought it was kinda creepy but then I thought to myself that this could be a pretty sweet platform to a whole new and different type of gaming experience. Anyhow, enough with the background. You can go to http://www.xbox.com/ to learn more about the device if you choose.

One of the most interesting pieces of news that I have heard is that bungie may use Natal as a feature for the upcoming Halo reach game which will be released around a similar time to project natal. Well I am sure that since it will be one of the first games for project natal it will probably not make full use of the camera feature as it typically takes developers a few years before being able to push new technology to its limits.

Game on!
